DURHAM, N.H. —Two men attending school at the University of New Hampshire were arrested early Saturday morning in connection with a stabbing that occurred at 17 Madbury Drive.

Officers found a 20-year-old man with two stab wounds. The victim, who is also a student at UNH, underwent surgery at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital and is in stable condition.

Matthew Gibbons, 20, and Eric Denning, 21, are both from Salem.

Gibbons was charged with first-degree assault and is being held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.

Denning was charged with second-degree assault and criminal liability and is being held in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

Both arraignments are scheduled for Feb. 22nd.
